Guided Grounds Tour

<p>Step back in time with the Roosevelts and hear stories about their lives at Sagamore Hill. This will be a 30-45 minute guided walk around the grounds of Sagamore Hill. The tour will begin at the picnic area, with stops at important buildings and places on the Roosevelt property. This walk will take place outside, please dress accordingly and bring water. </p>

Square Deal Tour (First Floor Only)

<p><strong>Tickets are for a condensed First Floor Only guided tour of the Theodore Roosevelt home. </strong>Visitors with a reservation will spend approximately 10-20 minutes inside on the ground floor hearing stories and seeing into rooms (Library and Summer Oval Office, Drawing Room, Dining Room, and North Room. </p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>40 online tickets</strong> </p> <ul> <li> <p>Will be released on recreation.gov at 9:30am the day before the tour.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <p><strong>20 onsite tickets</strong> </p> <ul> <li> <p>will be sold at the Old Orchard Museum starting at 12pm on the day of the tour until they are sold out. </p> </li> </ul> </li> </ul>

The Other Roosevelt Daughter

<p><span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Join the Friends of Sagamore Hill for a lively discussion about</span> Ethel Roosevelt Derby, TR’s youngest daughter. Known as the First Lady of Oyster Bay, she played a key role in preserving Sagamore Hill. During World War I, she volunteered as a nurse in France and became involved with the Red Cross where she continued to volunteer with for six decades.</p> <p>Newsday writer John Hanc will moderate the discussion with Hofstra University Proffessor Emeritus Natalie Naylor and Historican Rachel Lane. </p> <p>This even will be held on Saturday, August 15 at 3:00 PM at Christ Church Parish Hall. This event is free and light refreshments will be served. </p>
